First contact

During my early childhood I had always more or less a bit of contact to Muslims but of course as child I didn't really care about.

The first time I started really being interested in Islam was when I was about 13 years old.
My mum and I used to go to Morocco twice a year so she had some friends over there and one of them asked her to bring some books who were prohibited.

This books were lying around in our house for a while so I started reading them. They were actually not very positive about Islam specially when it came to women's rights but at least I started getting curious about all these things.

So I started reading whatever came into my fingers and found it very confusing as I found a lot of different opinions about same or similar topics.

By that time I was already 16 and started questioning all Muslims I met as I finally wanted to know the truth about Islam even though I didn't consider at all to revert at that time as actually my whole opinion was more negative then positive.

Many things just seemed so wrong to me, specially polygamy and hijab.
I just couldn't believe that any Muslims could be happy.

My mum supported that kind of view as she told me that Muslims don't love they children and they do "breeding" just our of fear of Allah.
She also told me that woman are proper slaves and don't have any rights at all.
So I guess you might be can imagine how negative Islam looked to me.

I know that some parts of this sounds a bit harsh but I wanted to describe how I felt at that time. Al hamdulillah now I know the truth as Allah showed me the right way.....
